CITY OF FORT WORTH 2014 WATER AND SEWER REHABILITATION WSM-A

A Dedicated Team

As the prime consultant for the CoFW on WSM-A, Water and Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project, Shield provided design services for the CoFW Water Department with a dedicated team to fast track the project. The WSM-A project consisted of the rehabilitation of approximately 1,200 LF 24” water line, 5,500 LF 12” water line, 750 LF 10” water line, 16,500 LF 8” water line and 2,200 LF 8” sanitary sewer line within established residential, commercial and industrial neighborhoods. Many of the lines were more than 50 years old and located in areas with limited as-built information.

Utilizing an Expertise

The first package, which included approximately 9,900 LF of water was surveyed, designed, approved and ready for bid by the CoFW in two months. Additionally, Shield’s efforts and expertise were utilized to consult on and develop additional departmental budgeting tools and construction contract time saving options.
