Shield provided civil engineering design and survey services, which included a feasibility analysis of approximately 11,000LF of street parking areas, crosswalks, as well as pedestrian and bike pathway along the four following streets: Irene, SW Johnson, Gregory and Gardens. 

The goal of this project was to create a complete streets standard vision to ultimately connect all of Burleson’s trail systems to encourage safe, convenient and comfortable access for the community. To accomplish this, Shield compiled extensive research for ways to incorporate traffic calming aspects into the design, which included buffer zones, shared use paths, crosswalks, raised pedestrian traffic lanes and narrowed motor vehicle traffic lanes.
