MUNICIPAL PROJECT
Shield provided an analysis and design for the protection of a slope along the shores at Lake Lewisville. The property at the top of the bank, as well as a primitive pedestrian trail on the slope, was at risk of sliding into the lake due to severe erosion caused by wave action.
Shield first determined the extents of erosion on the banks and how to avoid future erosion risk, then identified remediation to stabilize the banks, trail and property.
Shield’s analysis also included the review and determination of permitting required from the USACE and City of Highland Village. After multiple plans were developed and priced, ultimately a scourlok wall was deemed the best course of action to stabilize the uphill side of the bank and relocate the trail system at risk of failure.
