CRAIG BARNES, PE
Craig serves as the President, CEO and co-founder of Shield Engineering Group. With over 30 years of experience in civil engineering, Craig brings a wealth of expertise to both public and private projects, ranging from infrastructure to residential and commercial developments. He earned his Civil Engineering degree from Texas Tech University and his MBA from Texas Christian University, equipping him with both the technical skills and the business acumen to deliver superior results for clients.
Craig’s leadership is characterized by his ability to navigate complex challenges, foster lasting relationships and drive the success of projects across North Texas. He is actively involved in professional organizations, such as the American Council of Engineering Companies and the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association and regularly contributes to the broader engineering and real estate communities.
JEAN-MARIE ALEXANDER, PE
Jean-Marie is the COO and co-founder of Shield Engineering Group, specializing in managing civil engineering projects for public clients. With a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and over 25 years of experience in the civil engineering sector, Jean-Marie has a track record of managing complex projects, from public infrastructure improvements and residential developments to municipal parks and storm drain systems.
Jean-Marie’s keen eye for design detail has proven herself to be an efficient and effective team leader, focusing on quality control and cost-effective solutions while ensuring projects meet her rigorous standards. She serves on the ACEC Texas Board of Directors and contributes to the Fort Worth Central City Channel Bypass project as a Stormwater Project Manager for the City of Fort Worth.
RYAN HILL, PE, CFM
Ryan serves as the EVP at Shield Engineering Group, bringing over 18 years of experience of expertise in civil engineering and land development within the DFW area to Shield’s leadership team. With credentials as a Registered Professional Engineer and Certified Floodplain Manager, Ryan’s background highlights the breadth and depth of project knowledge including drainage, floodplain management and capital improvements. As testament to his commitments and leadership, Ryan was recognized as Fort Worth 40 Under 40 award recipient by the Fort Worth Business Press in 2021.
Ryan holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, which enhances his ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders and allows him to offer valuable engineering insights to clients. He plays a pivotal role in navigating projects from start to finish, fostering collaborations with utility commissions and other regulatory bodies to maximize project success.
