Shield Engineering Group provided civil engineering design services for a 175-lot single-family residential development located East of Hawkins Road and North of Highway 1173 in Krum, TX. Services included water, sanitary sewer, paving, grading, hydraulic modeling, drainage, pond design, TxDOT connection & surveying. Shield’s design also included a pedestrian hike and bike trail alongside the pond as a part of the city’s master planned recreation system.

Shield provided the analysis for the stream through hydraulic modeling ensuring downstream development runoff impacts were minimal. During the design phase, Shield maintained coordination with the city, county, TxDOT and utility service providers. Detention ponds and large pipe culverts were included in the design to minimize impacts to citizens while connecting both sides of the community and allowing traffic to safely cross.
